Formally part of the ‘Cape of Good Hope’ the Western Cape is best known for the provincial capital of Cape Town. The fourth largest of the nine provinces; boasts a rich history and diverse unparalleled beauty. Drive up the west coast to experience the vast beauty of this area, or tour one of the many world famous wine estates on the wine route. After doing this, why not make the pilgrimage from Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V&A Waterfront to Robben Island; site of one of the most infamous of prisons that housed the late Nelson Mandela. Cape Town, with its majestic Table Mountain backdrop, is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, so make sure you take in all the amazing sights and sounds.
On the bucket list; the ‘Garden Route’ winds through the West Coast of the Western Province and ends by the magnificent Storms river to the east of the province.
